How I work

I meet you where you are, whether you’re building your first HR foundations or strengthening your leaders for the next stage of growth. Every engagement starts with a free conversation, and you’ll have the scope and price in writing before anything begins.

How working together goes.

Five steps, and the first one is a free conversation.

01

A first conversation

We sit down and talk through what’s happening, what you’re aiming for and where it’s getting stuck. Thirty minutes, free, and no obligation.

02

A clear proposal

You get a written proposal setting out what I recommend, the scope, the timeframe and the price, so you know exactly what you’re agreeing to.

03

Getting started

We confirm the plan and set expectations. That might mean an onboarding session, sharing documents, or a check-in with your leaders.

04

The work, with regular check-ins

I deliver what we agreed, with regular touchpoints along the way so you always know where things are up to.

05

Wrap-up and next steps

I close out with a summary and recommendations, and we decide together whether any ongoing support makes sense.

What guides my work.

Five things I hold to in every conversation, project and partnership.

People first

Organisations thrive when people feel supported, respected and understood. My work centres on clarity, care and human connection.

Practicality and clarity

I cut through complexity with grounded, actionable guidance, so your people decisions feel lighter, clearer and easier.

Warmth and partnership

I meet you where you are, without judgement, pressure or jargon. I work alongside you, not above you.

Growth with purpose

I help organisations grow intentionally, sustainably and in line with their values. Capability, culture and leadership are built step by step.

Community and connection

I believe in strengthening the communities we live and work in, and my partnerships reflect a commitment to local impact and shared success.

Questions people ask.

It isn’t always obvious what kind of help your business needs. If you’re still unsure after these, a free conversation is the easiest way to find out.

I don’t have an HR department. Is this right for me?

Yes. I work with small to medium businesses and community organisations that don’t have HR in-house. I give practical, on-demand support so you can handle people issues confidently without a full-time HR hire.

What kinds of people problems can you help with?

Everything from performance conversations, conflict and culture challenges to recruitment, onboarding, role clarity, policies and leadership capability. If it involves your people, I can help you work through it.

Do you offer once-off advice, or ongoing support?

Both. Some people come to me with a single issue; others work with me as an ongoing, part-time people partner for guidance, coaching and capability building.

I’m not sure what my business needs. Where do I start?

Start with a free 30-minute conversation. We’ll talk through what’s happening, get to the root of it and outline practical next steps. No obligation and no jargon.

Can you help with compliance and documentation?

Yes. I create or refine policies, contracts, position descriptions and people frameworks that are compliant, practical and suited to your organisation.

Do you work with not-for-profits and community organisations?

Yes. I support not-for-profits, charities and community-led organisations with people challenges, governance and capability.

What makes Epton Connections different?

You work with me directly. You get strategic HR expertise with a human, grounded approach: clear advice, practical tools and support that fits your business, not a one-size-fits-all package.

Do you offer leadership or team development?

Yes. I design and deliver capability workshops, coaching and development programs for leaders and teams at every stage of growth.

Can you help with recruitment?

Yes. Role design, job ads, shortlisting, interview frameworks and selection, so you can hire well and with confidence.

What does it cost?

It depends on the support you need. My service pages and Services Guide list indicative prices, and after our first conversation you’ll get a clear written quote with no surprises.

Start with a conversation.

Thirty minutes, free and with no obligation. You’ll come away with a clearer picture of what to do next, whether or not we end up working together.
