Practical HR, from someone who’ll sit down with you.

I’m Ashleigh Epton. I help small businesses, not-for-profits and community organisations with the people side of running things: hiring, hard conversations, the paperwork, and building a team people want to stay in.

The first conversation is 30 minutes and free. Or call me on 0410 084 811.

It usually starts with something like this.

“I need to hire someone, and I don’t know where to start.”

I’ll help you scope the role, write the ad, shortlist and run the interviews, so you can choose with confidence and get them settled in properly.

Recruitment and onboarding

“Something isn’t right in the team, and I’m not sure how to raise it.”

I’ll help you plan the conversation, handle it fairly and keep it on the right side of Fair Work, whether it’s performance, behaviour or conflict.

HR advice and employee relations

“Are my contracts and policies actually right?”

I’ll look at what you have, fill the gaps and write it in plain English your team will actually read.

Policies and documentation

Two kinds of help.

Most businesses start with People HR, the everyday foundations. Growth is for when you’re ready to build your leaders, your culture and your team.

How working together goes.

Five steps, and the first one is a free conversation.

01

A first conversation

We sit down and talk through what’s happening, what you’re aiming for and where it’s getting stuck. Thirty minutes, free, and no obligation.

02

A clear proposal

You get a written proposal setting out what I recommend, the scope, the timeframe and the price, so you know exactly what you’re agreeing to.

03

Getting started

We confirm the plan and set expectations. That might mean an onboarding session, sharing documents, or a check-in with your leaders.

04

The work, with regular check-ins

I deliver what we agreed, with regular touchpoints along the way so you always know where things are up to.

05

Wrap-up and next steps

I close out with a summary and recommendations, and we decide together whether any ongoing support makes sense.

Ashleigh Epton seated in a white shirt, smiling

Hi, I’m Ashleigh.

I’m a People and Culture specialist with a decade of hands-on experience supporting small businesses, not-for-profits and community organisations.

I started Epton Connections because when small businesses grow in ways that honour their people and their values, communities become stronger. My job is to make your people decisions feel lighter and clearer: calm advice, practical tools, and someone in your corner when it matters.
